Since I have started the raw-vegan life. I have noticed that there

are few places within the city(Chicago)to find organically grown

produce. I am therefor, asking if there are better ways of cleaning

the produce that are available or if there are places that have

reasonable produce for delivery that are organic?

There are A LOT of places to buy organic produce in chicago. Whole

Foods Market carries a lot of organic produce. If you live inside the

chicago city limits, Stanley's produce is on the corner of North Ave

and Elston(just east of I90/94). They carry a lot of organic produce

as well. You can also try farmers markets in either Lincoln Square or

Roscoe Village. Wild Oats Market also carries organic produce. If you

are near evanston, try the People's Market. They are similar to Wild

Oats. Also, there's a health food store on Diversey just west of

Clark that carries a limited amount of organic produce. I go there

often, but can't think of the name right now to save my life! You can

find anything in chicago. Even Durians. If you want to mail order

organics, there is a farm in Yorkville that does that...can't

remember the name right now, but will find it. Also, you might want

to join the Organic Food Network in Wheaton. They have lots of good

information available and also raw food potlucks. Karyn's Fresh

Corner, you probably know about it, but they have raw potlucks, too.

Her food isn't 100% raw (she uses a ton of bragg's), but its nice to

go there when you don't feel like taking the time to prepare

something yourself. You'll just feel like drinking an entire gallon

of water afterwards because of all the braggs!
