Dear All,

At the risk of stretching the limits of proper content

for this forum, may I explain the motivation for my plight.

In the twenties of my life I used to set out early on a long

walk with no supplies in the hills and mountains of Andalusia in

Southern Spain. The aim was to get from A to B which could be

several days walk.

I well recall walking into high mountains where there was no hope

of water falling from rain in weeks and finding mist and dew settling

on pine leaves which provided water. More strikingly, at the end of a

day's walk, I would feel exceptional strength. nay much higher than

that,

walking into a village to stay for the night. A steak would have ruined

my walk and yet normally such was my evening meal.

I ate on the way from fields, trees and nuts. It could easily be argued

that I had fallen into Ketosis with the natural release, but, at the

time,

I felt that this must have been the route of man since time immemorial

- why should I not still feel at ease?

Now I live in northern Europe which is thinner on natural wild

vegetables

but I have some references on what may be picked from wild life and

eaten

with safety.

I suspect that most of the green leaves I see in the woods and pastures

can be eaten but I also know that there are a lot of traps hidden out

there.

The case is especial as man is intrinsically an educated animal. Frankly

I am not keen to test some wibbly wobbly just tofind out that if only I

had

visited the raw food forum, the half would have set me straight and

saved

my life.

Thus I welcome any input that can be offered on what wild life can feed

us.

Such could be of interest in even the smallest quantities. Suppose

that a dark green leaf hit my sight and its nature was that much would

be

needed of that plant... ... never mind

All wood for the fire will be appreciated. I have a list printed from

the

Readers Digest but clearly in appealing to this forum my sights are

higher

All joy

Peter Gardiner
