I eat lots of fruit and I am no longer a moody person. When I used to

eat a cooked diet I was moody, so I don't know what you are talking

about with the mood swings.

Also as far as diabetes. I think you'll need to do more study on that

issue. If you eat raw sugars without combining with fats the blood sugar

level goes up real quick but then goes down quickly. According to Dr.

Graham he has treated several people who were taking insulin and got

them off of insulin within a week or two with a raw diet. He didn't

necessarily start them with high sugar fruits. The main concern was not

to combine raw sugars and fats because that is what makes the blood

sugar go out of whack.

The treatment depended on the person and how their blood sugar levels

reacted to different foods. There is a tremendous amount of

misinformation out there. But you can cure yourself of diabetes on a

smart raw food plan. Though I would recommend contacting Dr. Graham

about that. His site is http://www.doctorgraham.cc

<http://www.doctorgraham.cc/> . He also has some informative free

articles on his site that give you a good idea of his philosophy.

RE: [Raw Food] Rawfood and teeth

Since diabetes is a big

problem in my family, I prefer

a vegetable based diet. Most

(3/4) of my fruit consist of

tomatoes, avocados, bell

peppers, and cucumbers. I do

usually have a handful of

berries and some raw nuts,

too. This works very well for

me and I don't have sugar

highs and mood swings that

many people heavily into

fruits report.

Quick Reply,

You are hungry only because

you haven't taken in enough

calories.

Increase fruit consumption

double or triple amounts or

whatever you

need to feel satisfied. Too

much fat will make you

sluggish.

A raw foodists primary

source of energy is going to

come from fruits.

You just have to eat what

you would think are insane

amounts.

Thank you, Roger, I appreciate

the concern, but I don't have

diabetes and would bet I never

will. Yes, I'm aware that

whole fruit (not fruit juices)

does not cause as high an

increase in blood sugar as

refined sugar, and the high

tends to drop slower. I've

never cared for high-sugar

fruits much and am very happy

and healthy on my raw

vegetable based diet (with

plenty of lower-sugar fruits

like tomatoes, cucumbers,

avocados, peppers, and such).

I believe balance and variety

are a key to good health no

matter what dietary choices we

make. I've had no problems

with mood swings, but I've

heard a great deal about mood

swings from vegans with high

fruit diets and especially

from fruitarians. I'm sure

not all are affected in this

way and some people will

thrive one a varied fruit

based diet. I wouldn't find

it satisfying or palatable.

Our bodies are not the same

and " normal " is a range that

covers a lot of territory. We

each need to find the ideal

for our own bodies. I think

we can all agree that it's

important to listen to that

inner voice and not slavishly

follow any " expert's " idea of

the ideal diet when our own

body tells us differently. I

merely wanted to point out, in

the wake of many voices

calling for more fruit, that

there is also another way to

find more nutrition and to

stop feelings of hunger.
