Guest guest
I am a carbohydrate addict as well. When I first attempted going raw many years ago there would be times that I let my cravings get to me. I went to the convenience store and bought a 4 pack of Reese's Peanut Butter Cups. Then 5 minutes later I bought and ate another one. Then another 10 minutes later I bought and ate another one. Even the people in the store where beginning to wonder about me. I always liked candy but never would eat that much in a row.

How do you get carbs in the raw food diet? By eating fruits. They are high in the sugar we need to fuel our bodies and our brains. Glucose is our number one dietary need. So what I found out later was to eat way more fruit. I wasn't getting enough calories. Once I got enough calories the cravings for carbs went away.

Problem solved!!!

The other day I ate 19 bananas and other sweet fruit. Don't worry about the sugar. It's what our body needs and it can handle it because the food has the fiber and nutrients to help digest the sugar.

But you have to watch your body and see how it reacts after a couple of weeks or so on this new fruit regimen. I definitely can go overboard on the sugar as well. I have to eat lots of celery or salads and fats to balance the sugar. But you shouldn't combine the fats and sugars at the same meal. Or eat the fruits first and wait half an hour or so and then eat the fats.

Roger Haeske

Get a Free 6 Step Technique to Transition to a Raw Diet, go to http://superbeing.com/awesometechnique.htm
