Guest guest
This is probably like a fox among the chickens but it was through my interest in raw food/live food, via this man's story of healing via nutrition, that I found this site.
To all the vegetarians, please accept alternative food concepts.

http://www.odomnet.com/live-food/index.htm
Guest guest
PTcruiser,

Re the raw foods - moooo, baaaaa, cluck cluck - web site, I looked at it and was not especially impressed with it. These guys may have good intentions and all (well, maybe not good intention to the animals), but while I agree with their observations that the dangers of germs and bacteria are greatly exaggerated and misunderstood, they didn't do a great job convincing me of the logic for eating huge amounts of raw meat.

Also some of the comments they made about food combining are conflicting with other resources I have on the subject; e.g. suggesting that fruits should be consumed with fats so the fat can absorb the toxins or pesticides. While fat " may " have the ability to do that (I personally don't know and they didn't explain why they believe this), almost all books on food combining will tell you to eat fruits alone for optimal digestion). Also their assertion not to combine vegetables with meat seems a bit off. My resources would say it's best to eat any particular food alone. But if you're consuming meat, it is OK to eat vegetables with it as long as you avoid high-carb stuff like rice, potatoes, bread etc.

The material I've read suggesting raw, primarily plant based, diet makes a lot more sense than what I got from reading this web site, although " some " people on the typical SAD of all processed foods might be better off on raw meat diet. I've read that when eskimos ate only raw meat and whale blubber, they did not have heart disease. But did develop it once converted to cooked meat products... So, in theory, while I might buy into the theory that if you're going to eat meat and animal products: eat it raw.... I seriously doubt raw meat diet is superior to raw plant-based foods... at least they didn't build the case in the web site.

It may be that the books they reference for sale build a better case for raw meats. Guest guest
Thanks Mallon,
I tend to agree with you, so I keep my fruits separately. I have eaten raw fish, eggs and a small portion of raw milk or butter on occasion but stick mainly to raw veggies, sprouts, fruit and nuts (with the odd slice of sourdough bread about twice a week.)
I have to admit to feeling much more active and mentally alert since changing to this diet. It hasn't been long, only a couple of months.
