It has four pull out trays, it plugs in but doesn't have a fan in the bottom or back. I don't know what temperature it gets to, in the book the top shelf can get to 120 degrees and the bottom 175 deg. But if you pull out the top tray 1/2 to 1 inch the heat decreases. I made some flax seed crackers in the two top trays, I hope I didn't heat them so much that the enzymes were killed. How would I find out the temperature of the dehydrator? I can't afford the Excalibur, and I've discovered the round one (American Harvest) isn't the best through word of mouth.
