Guest guest Posted November 27, 2000 Report Share Posted November 27, 2000 Dear Doug,<br><br>Thank you for your gracious reply.<br><br>And I think one of your good insights is that cooked food is addictive.<br><br>Some may have trouble with the word 'addictive' so I am happy to say 'habituated'.<br><br>The interesting thing, though, is that those who are addicted or habituated are acting logically within their addiction.<br><br>That is why it is so hard, almost impossible, to end an addiction.<br><br>Generally, people have to reach rock bottom before they will make a radical change.<br><br>Rock bottom might mean a very serious illness or social rejection.<br><br>Addicts, almost always, can't be appealed to through reason.<br><br>I think that most of us here have made the decision to eat raw food; and this means very large amounts of fresh fruit and vegetables.<br><br>Having made the decision, we should encourage each other, in this group, to implement the decision.<br><br>Debate is good, while remembering to debate the idea, and respect and care for the person.<br><br>I must admit I don't know how to treat those who are addicted to cooked food.<br><br>Reason doesn't work, so perhaps we need the skills of tolerance and conflict resolution.<br><br>I think you have good insight and always look forward to reading your posts.<br><br>Victor.
