My Australian friend used to make a killer drink

in her blender. Lemon juice, garlic, cayene pepper

and water. She said this killed off the cold before

it could get started.

As for juices, for

colds, citrus is still probably the best.

Adelle

Davis wrote that when a cold is starting, you need to

raise the blood level of sodium. She recommended

drinking baking soda, salt and warm water. I have tried

this at the onset and it worked--no cold developed.

However, if you are already sick, this will not " cure "

your cold, but it does seem to take the symptoms down

a notch.

The US Government found that

chicken soup is the best, but that would be out of the

question for raw food vegetarians. If you think about it

though, chicken soup is usually pretty salty, so back to

the sodium angle. Chicken soup doesn't cure the cold,

but again, it takes it down a notch.

Lots of

times, mucous build up comes from congestion in other

parts of the body. Cleaning out the colon can only

help. Also, have you tried using a netti pot with warm

salt water to clean out your sinuses? You could make

up the salt water and use a nosedropper also.

Clearing out the mucous will reduce what the cold has to

live on and should help you get better

sooner.

Hope you are well again soon.
