Guest guest
The best way to lose weight is to eat large amounts of raw green leafy vegtables, and fruits. Raw foodists always have weight problems, not because they are overweight, but because they are underweight (according to other peoples standards). The most wonderful thing about living foods is that you can eat all you want, any time you want, of anything you want, and the more you eat, the more weight you lose. In Stephen Arlin's book; Raw Power he states " To gain weight, eat only once or twice a day " . In the book; Food Enzymes The Missing Link to Radiant Health; it is stated throughout the book that that the main component of energy is enzymes, and that our metabolism is maintained by enzymes. Dr. David Galton of Tufts Univerity, School of Medicine, examined eleven obese individuals weighing from 230-240 lbs. and found enzyme deficiencies in their fatty tissue. Not only the fatty tissues were found lacking lipase, but fatty tumors (lipomas) were also found deficient in lipase. Lipase is the enzyme that aids the body in fat storage and the breaking down of fats. Animals in hibernation lose pounds of weight while sleeping because of lipase activity. Without lipase, fat stagnates and accumulates in the arteries, capillaries and other organs.

You get lipase from raw fats, my favorite is avocado, if you can't get avocado, use raw extra virgin olive oil on your salads, eat lots of raw nuts (germinate them to activate the enzymes), use fresh corn if you can. It is a beautiful concept that if you are overweight, you need more delicious raw fats (there is a god).

Fasting gives you energy, by resting your digstive system, but right now you need lots of enzymes.

Doug
Guest guest
Hi there Doug, thanks for the reply. I am a great believer in eating veges raw - and over the past year have done a lot more of it. We're so used to cooking the guts out of most of our veges, it's taken awhile to adjust. Its funny though, my kids are 8 and 9 years old - and just naturally prefer their veges raw! That tells me heaps about the way we've been bought up in regards to food. I guess even I haven't beaten the 'boil food' bit into them, so thats a real plus. Robin doesn't like his food raw, so to speak, in that he'd not sit down to a 'meal' with them all on his plate. But, he loves salads, so he gets his raw that way. But all in all, we still do not eat near enough of them raw. And nuts! I LOVE nuts.... :)

Are you originally from Hawaii, or did you move there to live? Down here, its always 'the' island to go to for a nice relaxing holiday. One day...

Better go, I work at home as an outworker for a local sewing company - and I've been slacking off all afternoon, and my work is needed back in the factory tomorrow. Thanks again, nice to meet you.

Avis
