Guest guest Posted March 9, 2000 Report Share Posted March 9, 2000 My lady freind and I have pet Cockatiels (Birds). What do birds have to do with raw food? Well I got Julianos' " The Uncook Book " and really got into Raw soups (Fiery Lava is great). Anyway; I was trying to figure out some simple way to heat the soup to about 98 degrees or so, without watching it like a hawk on a double boiler. So getting back to our birds; A couple years ago one of them got sick so we bought a " Hospital Cage " . This thing is just a metal box, with light bulbs in the bottom, and an ajustable thermostat, Designed to keep birds warm. This thing works great, just make your food stick it in there, and forget about it 'till meal time. I don't rember how much it cost, but any pet supply should be able to get one.

Bon Appetit;
Doug Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Guest guest Posted March 10, 2000 Report Share Posted March 10, 2000 That " Uncook " book is awesome! I have it too and I love the smoothies. Because of that book I am adicted to dates! They are delishious:) I want to try more recipies soon as soon as I get my jucing machine working again:)
A " Hospital Cage " for birds to heat your food? Sounds kinda silly but if it works for you go for it. For me the juicer(Vita Mix) slightly warms the food so I dont need to worry. That machine is great!
Hope you have a good day and take care:) Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
