The body adjusts to what we give it, makes allowances and tolerates much. Thank God for that because if our bodies were not so cleverly designed to clean itself out we would all be dead in short order.

Here’s my point. Health, to a great degree, is a matter of choice. If we provide our bodies with quality materials to use and live a healthy lifestyle we WILL BE healthy or at least move in that direction. That’s the law of life.

As you mentioned there is great confusion on how to reach health. There are so many experts and what they say sounds good to groups of people. Have you seen the commercial for “Cheat and Eat”? That’s just what people WANT to believe in… eat anything and everything you want and all you have to do is take their little pill and you can “cheat” nature and not pay the price. Isn’t that what all of us really want? To do anything we want and not pay a price for it? I think it would be more profitable for people to spend more time understanding what it is that their body needs to be healthy and providing it rather than thinking up new ways to cheat. Don’t you agree?

You mentioned that you know of people who have tried eating raw and got sick. They then went back to their normal diet and felt better. I hear this ALL the time. There are lots of questions to ask! Did they eat ORGANIC? Was it FRESH? Was it CLEAN? Are they sure? Did they combine it wrong with other foods? When in the day did they eat it? Did they have beverages with it? Did they overeat? There are just so many questions to ask that it is almost impossible to assess why it was disagreeable to them without actually being there when they ate. IF they did everything right then my standard answer is that they are SUPPOSE to feel sick afterwards. That’s right! By eating the easy to digest food their body can now work on getting rid of the garbage it has been waiting patiently to get rid of for years. That’s why they feel sick. It’s the body finally getting the chance to clean house because you finally stopped feeding it junk! The other possibility is that the body is addicted to its normal diet foods and so it is upset at not getting it. We are addicted to sugars, breads and stimulants. When our body is use to getting them everyday it just freaks out when we don’t give it and instead grab a piece of fruit. The sugar in fruit is NOT the same as the sugar in candy or table sugar. Fruit sugar is extremely easy for the body to digest and is exactly what the body needs.

It’s a real shame that people experience these bad feeling when they make a healthy change in their diet but that’s just the way it works for most. They have to be aware that this is GOING to happen ahead of time and have guidance to get though it. And I guess that’s part of the reason why so few people reach excellent health. To reach that elusive goal takes guts to move away from popular belief, acceptance of personal responsibility for one’s health, and the education and drive to get over the hurdles in the road. Yes, it takes all this and more… but the results are worth it!

-OrionsDad
