Guest guest
hanks for your reply to my previous post.
It is interesting that a recent study claims that Australians and Americans are very similar in their attitudes and values. Except for one.
Australians are much more cynical/sceptical than Americans.
This accords with my own experience particularly in regard to humour.
Australians have markedly changed their diet over my lifetime of 52 years mainly in response to our very high immigration program and healthy eating program of no tobacco, low fat, high fruit and vegetables.
However the benefits of eating a diet very high in fruit and vegetables is not generally known. I also believe that such a diet requires a change of life-style that is difficult to bring about by an individual alone.
That's why I think groups such as this are important; until society gives legitimacy to a raw food way of life, we not only provide information, but we also validate of a way of living.
It is also interesting that this is a global group. " Think global, act local " .
Whereas in my parish I am the only fruitarian, making me and eccentric; in the global internet I am among my peers.
