Guest guest
rionsDad,

First, I agree with you about the perils of irradiating food. I think part of the problem is that most people are completely ignorant on the subject of food enzymes. To be fair, I was until a year or so ago. I don't understand why this aspect of food gets so little attention. Thankfully, there are boards like this to spread the word!

Secondly, I just caught up on reading all the prior posts to this group. I used to hear unripe bananas were not fit to eat. Thanks for clarifying why. Question: Do enzyme inhibitors simply prevent you from digesting that particular food, or (if you combine multiple foods at one meal) do they prevent you from digesting other foods? And are there any other dangers in eating uncooked foods that contain enzyme inhibitors?

I was a little disappointed to discover nuts on that list. I've been eating raw sunflower and brazil nuts the past several months. Guess I need to change that. Also I occasionally make almond milk in the blender. I use raw nuts and just soak them in distilled water overnight first. Would you suggest I make them sprout first? I think I need to do a little more research on sprouting.

Mallon
