Guest guest
esterday was my 44th birthday!

The morning before I was driving to the store, listening to music and enjoying the sunny weather. I had an overwhelming sense of peace and joy come over me. My mind was as clear and sharp as ever. I felt alive and energized... very optimistic about what the future held for me.

This is an exciting and joyous time in my life. I have a 10 month old son (my first!) and I'm considering new business opportunities. I'm reminded that I have a lot for which to be thankful -- my wife and family, our home, health, work and Faith. Truely thankful!

If you haven't seen the movie " Muppet Christmas " yet go out and rent it from the video store before Christmas. It's enjoyable for both adults and children. There's a lot of great songs on it and near the end there is a song about having a " thankful heart " that you will be singing for days afterwards.

I encourage each reader of this club to take the time to reflect on the good things in your life ... to be thankful and to display a " thankful heart " to others. I know our lives aren't perfect and that hardships fall on each of us. But we need to seek out and focus on the good parts of our lives if we are to move forward and to be thankful for what we DO have.

I know that raw foods is contributing to my well being. I just feel better on raw and living foods then I do on cooked foods. I was listening to Gary Null on the radio again and he was talking about incentives for those on a raw diet. He was talking to a listener and was pointing out that it is best NOT to focus on the raw diet because you want to avoid diseases BUT because you want to feel the benefits of good health. Do you see the difference in perspective? Focus on the health aspects and not the disease avoidance part. You want your incentive to be IMPROVING HEALTH and not disease avoidance based. The disease avoidance person sees each time they go off the diet as a failure because their failing health conditions come back.. it's negative conditioning. The person with the IMPROVING HEALTH perspective is conditioned in a positive manner. They feel good about what they are doing and want to do it more.

Now I have a very SPECIAL incentive for improving my health on the raw diet -- my precious son. My father died of emphysema when I was 12 and I've felt his absence over the years. I want to be here for my son --- to play ball, to have talks, to enjoy each other's company and to provide advice. I've having a great time with hime now. I can't do anything about my cronological age but I can sure try to improve my physical condition... and eating a raw diet plays a major role. What's your incentives? I want to hear them.

In closing I'm reminded that a long life is not necessarily the desired goal as much as developing a " life worth living " . But that's another topic!

-OrionsDad :^ & gt;
