The three-man team from the Chiang Mai Night Safari, comprising a veterinarian and two animal handlers, will be here until next Wednesday to learn the finer points of running a night safari. Dr Sitatchaphorn Khaitong, 30, said she would be observing the way the Taiping night safari was being managed and hoped to pick up several useful tips. Built at a cost of around RM110 million, the Chiang Mai Night Safari, she said, would have 800 animals. Meanwhile, animal handlers Amrin Madae, 26, and Issarin Sotharanjit, 30, expressed delight at being given the opportunity to expand their knowledge. " It's our first time here and we are very excited, " they said. Organised by the Malaysian Association of Zoological Parks and Aquaria, the 10-day course will be led by facilitators from the local zoo industry. Twenty-four participants are attending the course which began today.
