1) Mother Teresa & sainthood, in English version of my book is dedicated to

you-- Avijit Roy, a science writer, friend, fellow rationalist.

 

 

 

2) On 5th Oct, 2005,' Bhoot' in a girls' school in M.P. , PG was interviewed by

Star news, the problem was solved, the matter reported on TV with Prabir's

explanation & interview. 'Bhoot' is gone.

 

 

 

3) On 10 & 11 oct. in Birbhum a woman was branded as witch (Daini ), & thrown

out of the village. Members of Yuktibadi Samity, Burdwan , 8 of them went there,

had a meeting with local people & leaders & police, lodged a complaint. Got

assurance that she would be rehabilitated, & the Ojha & his group would be

punished. The matter came in all papers in Burdwan & in Ajkal.

 

 

 

4) Sarbmangala Mandir, the famous temple attached to Burdwan Rajbari still has

the practice of ANIMAL SACRIFICE, (BOLIDAN). We along with 38 members visited

the temple , took photos, interviewed locals, staged a silent protest with black

bands & placards. Had a press conference. The matter came in todays paper DAINIK

STATESMAN, and ETV news, Akash -barta news. Local paper SANGBAD AND sTAR aNANDA

news channel took detailed photos. Intellectuals like Sunil Ganguly & Partha

Chattopadhyay, Lawyers like Gitanath Ganguly, Bikash ranjan Bhattacharya have

signed jointly with us, writing articles & giving speeches on TV. We started

this campaign 2 months back. Our campaign, the first of its kind in India, is

gaining impetus. 92% of the public have spoken in favor of us .
