Dear animal friends,

We are now in crisis due to Korea Government's final report about Dog Meat

Hygiene Management Policy by OPC (=The Office for Government Policy

Coordination) .

This report run into 40 more pages.

So, I'll explain about their key points as follows....

1. Edible dog can be a exact distinction from pet dog due to pet registration

practice through Animal Protection Law of MAF(=the Ministry of Animal Forest),

as long as exist dog meat in Korea.

2. MAF will come into operation sanitation management for dog meat (Animal

Protection Law) base on Animal Protection Law.

3. KFDA(Korea Food & Drug Administration) is responsible for management dog meat

as food, at the same time MOE(the Ministry of Environment) impose legal control

on dog slaughter as waste water treatment lawfully.

4. New income from dog slaushter facilities will be able to provide for animal

groups, also can advertise dog meat to foreign & outside by using these income.

5. Korea Government insist that this report made for public sanitation and

environment, so that this policy is very reasonable one in oppsition animal

groups' protest, they think.

6. If it practice 'pet registration " , Korean Government think that it

contribute to decrease " the criticism of eating pet dog " hearing from

abroad.(Now in Korea , there are no selection whatever it is pet dog or edible

dog!, both of these dogs are being slaughtered dog meat for human consumption)

7. This report was made by supporters who eating dog meat absolutely.

Therefore, I'd like to ask how I can give this terrible situation toward ourside

for our poor dogs in Korea with more effective.
