Guest guest
Hi everybody, I know most people in this list lives in the U.S, and the dog I am searching for a home to, lives in Bangkok, Thailand. But I don't know where else to turn so I will give it a try and I appreciate any advice and suggestions. I live in Sweden and I go to Bangkok 2 times every year to buy silk and jewelllary. This summer (in July)I found a sick soi dog (a homeless dog living in the street - soi) close to a market where I was shopping. In Thailand they don't euthanize animals, because of buddhistic believes. Many sick or injured animals must die slow and painful deaths in the gutter and nobody cares at all. Anyway, I managed to get the dog, Silky, to an animals hospital. She was not feeling well at all but since then she has received treatment for heartworm and now she is doing fine. The thing is that she is living in a cage at the hospital and that is no good life for her. The last months she has been receiving treatments but since they are now finished I think she needs to leave the hospital. I am not very sure that the hospital takes so good care of her, since I am in Sweden and can't check-up on how she is treated. Silky is very social and lives people, but she is not fond of other dogs. I feel so sorry for her and my only wish is to be able to provide her with the life she deserves but never got. Since I live in Sweden I can not take Silky here. Our country is rabies free and have very strict rules prohibiting bringing animals from outside into the country. It is almost impossible to find a home for an adult dog in Thailand. Thai people look down on the street dogs though these dogs are the most fantastic I ever met. They are social, extremely intelligent and loving, but the Thais are only interested in pedigree dogs, and only puppies. My only hope now is to find somebody in another country that would be willing to give Silky a life. I know that organisations that work for the soi dogs, sometimes finds homes in the U.S, and they fly the dogs there. I know there are so many homeless animals in America, as well as everywhere else, but for me it is just as important to save a dog in Bangkok as it would be with a dog in Sweden. I hope there is somebody that feels the same way. Silky is not young and she has been living a hard life on the street so she do looks a bit " worn " . She is not beautiful but she has a wonderful, faithful and loving personality. The best for her would be to come to some warm place, where she can spend much time outside.I am willing to pay for Sily's transport to the U.S, as long as I can be sure that she will get a good home with somebody that will give her the care and the love she needs. If you want to help Silky, please email me as soon as possible.
