Acting on information from the Wildlife protection Society of India (WPSI), the Department of Wildlife Preservation (Government of India) and the Delhi Wildlife Department jointly raided two elephant owners in Yamuna Pushta area. Both the owners were unable to produce satisfactory documents, a release from Wildlife Protection Society of India said. The two elephants - a six-year-old female calf and an 11-year-old male - were seized on October 14 last and taken to the zoo the same day.
