The butchered tiger found in the chiller at a house in Tumpat three days ago

was likely poached in Perak.

It is believed the carcass was taken in a lorry to the house of a Malaysian,

of Thai origin, who was detained during the raid by the Kelantan Wildlife

Department.

It is understood that the carcass was destined for restaurants in Thailand,

where it fetched a lucrative price.

Checks showed that there are no restaurants offering exotic dishes here and

Tumpat.

However, it is believed, that there are several outlets doing so in Gua

Musang and to an extent, Kuala Krai.
