1. FROM THE DESK OF HONY. GEN. SECRETARY

My Dear Friends,

Welcome to another News letter from PAWS! Both our ambulances were on calls

rescuing injured animals, treating stray animals with maggot-wounds and carrying

food and medical equipments. Our ambulance that has been plying in the Thane

district for five years has broken down and is too old even for repairs. We

continue using it with difficulty till we get a new ambulance to replace it as

we do not want our work to halt in its absence. PAWS appeals to all its well

wishers to kindly help us to get one New / Old / Second hand Vehicle to use as

rescue Vehicle for PAWS Thane.

Yours for Animals,

Nilesh Bhanage

Hony. Gen. Secretary & Founder Trustee

8. BEGGING MONKEYS RESCUED:

PAWS Ambulance Driver Kishore and his friends rescued three hungry and thirsty

monkeys who were used for begging by the madaris. With the help of the Wildlife

dept the monkeys were shifted to Thane SPCA animal hospital in the PAWS

Ambulance. They are currently resting- shortly the HIV & TB test will be carried

out & further action will be taken on their Rehabilitation. Henceforth those

monkeys will not be begging for their masters nor will they suffer starvation.

(It is said that some of these monkeys, which are used for begging are connected

with the Mumbai underworld. We really amazed to hear this. Must we assume then

that our driver has taken ‘Panga’ with the underworld!!)

Great Work Kishore! We are proud of you & happy that you are part of our team.

HELP US HELP THE NEEDY!

We at PAWS are committed to help our four legged , furred, feathered and scaled

friends but for this we are totally dependent on financial help from donors and

generous well wishers. Helping distressed people is indeed a service to Humanity

but serving dumb and helpless creatures is service to GOD. While there are

several others who destroy them , we at PAWS conserve , rehabilitate and serve

animals as best as funds permit . We need money to run our ambulance, pay

salaries and buy food and medicine. We therefore appeal to you to kindly help us

help the needy.
