Dear Officer

I'm writing this email for some terrible thing happened in China

Shanghai ( Zha Bei Lin Fen Road zip code 200435) today (Sep.23,

2005). I just called my parents in shanghai which I am now living in

Washington D.C. My parent's told me that THE special policeman went

to their neighborhood early morning and tried to kill some pet dogs

in front of the owners. The reason they announced is " YOUR DOG CAN

NOT GET OUT OF YOUR DOOR " . Even if you have registered the license

for your dog. I just can not believe what they did to those poor

dogs. As I understand the owner must have the license for his dog,

otherwise their behavior is illegal. Ok, but that illegal behavior

should not be punished to those dogs as they don't know what's it.

That is what their owner should take the responsibility to apply the

license. Why THE policeman do such inhumane and brutal things to

those innocent dogs? Why they want to kill them in front of the

owner? I'm not kidding! This is not the first time I'v seen and heard

when I was in Shanghai . And I'm just can not believe this is the

truth. But it is! My parents told me one of our neighbors' dog was

terrible hurt this morning because THE policeman didn't believe the

dog has the license and they use the iron clamp to catch the neck of

that poor dog. And they TRIED their BEST to do it, made the dog

bleeding from his mouth. After they saw the license of this dog, they

said to the owner " We are not wrong, because you can not let your

dog out of your house even if you have the license. "

Well, I don't know what you can do or not. But I just want to let you

know there is something inhuman to the dogs in Shanghai such a big

famouse city. Is that a joke? NO! I'm absolutely seriouse to talk

about it. In America, all the people love the animals. And people try

to protect their pets. Nobody has the right to hurt the animals. The

dogs have the right to live. I feel very anxiouse about the situation

in Shanghai now. Because the social seems dosen't respect and protect

the pets especially the dogs. I have a five years old dog which still

lives with my parents in Shanghai. Alghough my dog has the license

but he is not real happy. Because the city which he lives like a huge

cage without freedom. Compare with my baby kitten in America, she is

much more lucky. When I think about my dog, I feel a little pity.

Then after tonight, I have more thoughts to bring my dog to America

with me. Here in America, there is nobody can kill him and hurt him.

He will be totally free. More important, at least he will be

respected by the human been.

Please, try to do something to those little innocent and helpless

dogs. They need love not bleeding.
