Guest guest
No end to activity in ‘gazetted’ forest - The New Straits Times SHUKOR KADIR, Hulu Langat SEPT 13: -- ON Aug 27, the Deputy Prime Minister and the Menteri Besar of Selangor declared that the Government had gazetted the forest of Hulu Langat to Gombak as " Selangor Heritage Park " . No development would be allowed unless the public agreed. As I live in Hulu Langat, I have noticed to my great surprise that loggers have started to prepare for the felling of the trees. They even put up a signboard stating their intention. I called the Selangor forest authorities. Then came the next surprise. " There is no such thing as the gazette! The logging can go on, " according to an official. Is it possible that the gazette was a mistake? Or were the logging permits an oversight on the part of the authorities? _______________ Find just what you are after with the more precise, more powerful new MSN Search. http://search.msn.com.my/ Try it now.
