Guest guest
Dear list members, I 'd like to present a Swedish initiative to help the animals affected by the tsunami catastrophe, and also ask you to visit their website: www.animalprotection.se . (Part of the site is in English.) Animal Protection Network is raising funds for a few severely depressed dogs to travel to Europe and have a new home here; www.animalprotection.se/index.php?id=84 .The dog on top of this page is Goliat, who lives in a Thai shelter for dogs having lost their families. He cried loudly after the APN team when they left the shelter. (The picture probably says more than a thousand words...) The next dog is Mike, who is a bit overweight and therefore harassed by other dogs. Down is the APN founder Carina, with a little " girl " who very much enjoyed cuddling... The situation for these dogs is urgent because the shelter personnel don't have time to walk the dogs, or even talk to them, due to the conditions of the tsunami areas. APN is primarily collecting funds in Sweden, and therefore only asking for donations in Swedish crowns (SEK) at their website. But, they have an ordinary mail address, too, and if you feel you can offer only as much as a dollar for the sake of Goliat and the others, I 'm sure it would be greatly appreciated... (APN may also be contacted for further information on how to donate.) Thank you for caring about the world's " forgotten " victims /Liselotte Holmbom, Swedish animal protection activist.
