Guest guest
Dear all Thank you so much for your concern for these animals. With some help, PETA has managed to secure funding for 6 cages and have placed an order for their fabrication. 2 cages should be ready by early next week. CZA has given the funds to the WB forest department for the balance 6 cages (unfortunately one animal died so we have the need for one less cage) and we are hopeful that these cages will also have been started to be fabricated. The movement of the animals to the rescue centers should hopefully start in the next 2 weeks. The reason we need new cages is because the animals are currently housed in small decrepit cages just now which can fall apart at any point. The reason we cannot use the transport cages that are lying in other rescue centers and the zoos are that these animals are going to be living in these cages for a few weeks as the construction at the 2 rescue centers they are off to is not yet over. CZA has taken the decision, and very rightly so, to move the animals from the current spot to the rescue centers so that at these places, they will at least get vet care and proper food, and after a few weeks can be moved into the rescue centers. Once again, a big thank you for the animals.
