Orthopedic Operation for Monkeys

It was report by a news agent in China on 22nd, June 22, 2005:

Doctors of West China College of Stomatology, Sichuan University did an

orthopedic operation for a monkey to make its mandibles shorter on 21st,

June. It was regard as contribution for cosmetic surgery of human being by

these doctors; in fact it¡¯s an extremely cruel animal experimentation

which is aimed to find out how the operation affects nerve system of face

and brain, and to find out what the sequela will be.

After the operation, it¡¯s shame to hear that the doctors said they were

very thankful for the monkeys because of its sacrifice for the cosmetic

surgery research of human being.

It¡¯s out of any human manners! And there are several monkeys are waiting

for the operation, We Should Save Them!

WE SHOULD SAVE THE MONKEYS!

Here is the picture of the operation:

Hallo, all

After having read this horrific news I tried to communicate with the

university via e-mail using the links and electronic address given.

Concerning the addresses, all of them are written in Chinese so I can't

figure out a single thing. As for the e-mail address, it performs a

fatal error as soon as I am trying to send my e-mail letter. As a result

of this, the e-mail is not sent. However, I am sending you the e-mail I

was trying to send in case you have another reason to communicate with

the interested parties and in order to unite my voice along with yours

against all these cruelties:

A huname request

Dear Sirs,

My name is Maria Nika and I come from Greece. We have heard this morning

about this horrific operation-experiment that took place in your

university. I am writing to express my strong dismay and deep repel for

this fact and all activities of this kind, as well. Treating animals

like machines, things or even garbage points out in the most clear way

what kind of creatures we -people- are. Humanity has nowadays the means

and ways to find other solutions of experimenting than torturing

innocent animals. Why do these poor creatures have to tolerate such

horrific practices in cosmetic surgery's sake? It's not the first time;

laboratories of pharmaceutical or cosmetics companies as well as

universities all over the world are full of animals suffering under the

worst conditions in " science's " sake. Good Lord!! Scientists should be

the first ones to promote and implement the best for nature . The first

ones expected to show respect for all forms of life and teach the others

to do so as well, instead of taking part to these outrageous tortures.

Please stop these brutalities! Release all imprisoned animals in your

laboratories and help all of us to stop their use to experiments.

Animals do have feelings just like us and are in great pain when

mistreated. Science is the proof for human superiority and the

responsibility of this superiority is to protect the other forms of life

that are in need for this protection.

Sincerely yours,

Maria,

Greece
