Guest guest
IF any of you reading this have ANY experience with primates, such as the macaque, we are desperately trying to find recipes for biscuits or treats for the one we are trying to help care for, and information on diet. The owner is close to agreeing to building a larger, more appropriate enclosure for it.. presently, it's in a very very small cage - mostly metal, with just " areas " of open " wire " where it can see out. It's getting very hot here now, and I am very worried about it being in this sort of confinement. It's also alone - which is pathetic. What can we do to help it? Can anyone offer suggestions? The owner will not give it up - he might consider selling it.. but we fear he will just replace it with some other exotic animal. He presently has african gazelles, ostrich, llamas, horses, cattle, and the monkey. I have no clue how he's getting them, or WHY. If you can offer information on appropriate housing (perhaps you have photos of humane enclosures for macaques), diet, and environmental enrichment activities - we're all ears. Thank You In Advance... ~Kim Petersen voices4animals.com voices4animals Okinawa, Japan
