Focus on more pressing matters than dog problems

ALTHOUGH I do not particularly like pets, I feel that the proposal to make dog

owners attend courses is an over-reaction.

I agree with Dr E. Tay that the majority seems to be targeted for the

misdemeanours of a very few, “<a

us " >Dog owner ‘barks’ at double standards</a>”, (The Star, May 6)

I have a neighbour who has a few dogs and I have never had any problems with

them. In fact they provide all of us in the vicinity with an added sense of

security throughout the day.

Dr Tay also has a point about cats. I continue to have problems with

neighbours’ cats which defecate in my garden regularly.

And who is going to pay for the courses for dog owners? The ratepayers or the

owners?

Don’t target dog owners, local councillors. Play fair and concentrate on other

more pressing matters.

GEORGE GOH,

Subang Jaya.
