Guest guest
New Straits Times » Letters Disturbing scene in movie SETH GREEN ABU BAKAR Gombak May 4 ______ IT was on a Friday night that I went to the living room where my mother was watching a Malay movie on child abuse titled Citra Khas, which caught my attention because the little girl’s acting was excellent. But then there was a scene where the girl’s mother is so angry with her for bringing home a kitten, that she grabs the kitten, strangles it and throws it to the floor. The scene was shocking as I noticed the expression on the animal’s face. I watched the movie till the end hoping that the credits would inform the viewers that no animals were hurt during the making of the film. I was disappointed to see that no such information was given. The next day, still disturbed by what I had seen, I saw a little boy on the street with a stick in his hand beating a cat. This is what happens when people are not educated about animal cruelty. The movie may have started out as a child abuse movie but I saw it as more of an animal abuse movie. I would like to know if the cat was hurt during the making of that scene or during the shooting of that movie. Is the cat alive today? What type of owner could have handed an innocent creature to such people? I hope TV2 or the director can answer these questions. _______________ Block pop-up ads with MSN Toolbar. http://toolbar.msn.com.my/
