Rani the pet Sambur of the Horton Plains was wounded by a wild sambur about

She was a wild sambur which followed the visitors to the park like a pet

..She used to eat tit bits like bread crumbs and trusted the humans .

Her wounds became infected with maggots and she died few days ago .

The Park Warden has secretely buried the Rani`s body .

Why didn`t they get a veterinarian to give antibiotic injections and dress

the wounds of the sambur?

In February a tusker of the Kahalla Pallekele in Kurunegala was shot and

the tusks were removed using an electric saw.Few days ago at about 3`o clock

in the morning a Luxury vehicle was allowed to travel inside the Park .

The Present Govrnment has taken deciplinary action against some officers of

the Pinnawela orphanage of the Zoological Gardens and Department of Wild life .

That was done to help the dishonest officers and poachers.

Some of the poachers are MUNICIPAL COUNCIL Members AND CLOSE RELATIONS OF

THE MEMBERS OF THE PARLIAMENT and the Ministers.

Sri lankan Government has failed to protect the animals
