After attacking the three, the boar entered the compound of a mosque and was shot by officers from the Wildlife Protection and National Parks Department (Perhilitan). In the 10am incident yesterday, the boy, Mohd Manshah Saputra, was hurt in the face while Burhanuddin Zainuddin, in his 50s, was wounded in both legs. Another person suffered minor injuries. The boar is believed to have entered the village from a nearby secondary forest. Police said Mohd Manshah and Burhanuddin were given outpatient treatment at the Selayang Hospital. Mohd Masrul Yatim, 28, who witnessed the incident, said he saw the boar attacking Mohd Manshah who was walking alone. It then attacked a man, in his 50s, before turning on Burhanuddin, a cobbler near the mosque. “I was at the mosque at that time. I ran through the back door when I heard cries for help and saw Burhanuddin with his legs bleeding.” He said he and his uncle tried to chase the animal away with a stick but it refused to leave the mosque compound. Seeing that the animal was getting more aggressive, Mohd Masrul said he rushed home to call the police and then fetched a gold club. He and several of his friends later managed to prevent the animal from running out of the mosque compound and attacking other villagers.
