Guest guest
Sender would like to you to learn about Kei and how you can help. Please read the letter below. ----------------- Forwarded Message: Subj: KEI THE WOLF: ACTION MESSAGE 3/20/05 4:36:39 AM Eastern Standard Time greg_leis Received from Internet: click here for more information 20 Mar., 2005 For those who want to read the New Address first, please scroll down. Topic: Kei is a 12 year old female North American Eastern Timber Wolf who has lived virtually her entire life on a 7 x 4 meter concrete slab in almost total isolation from others of her species at the Okinawa City Kodomo no Kuni Zoo in Okinawa, Japan. There she is routinely barked and howled at and spends most of her time pacing in the hot sub-tropical climate of Okinawa. Please do some of the actions below to help us get her released and back to a wolf sanctuary in North America so that she can live out her last years of life in a more peaceful setting, giving her the dignity she deserves. Actions To Take: Please spread Kei`s Official Web Site amongst those you know and groups or chats you belong to. Just ask them to take a moment to read a few things about her and to consider joining her campaign. Direct them to http://www.keithewolf.com/ Soon after this Action Message is received by everyone, you will also get the “Count-Up: Watching Kei Dieâ€. Please re-title that and send to the zoo, whose e-mail address is found in that message. Don`t forget that Kei`s birthday, April 4th, is fast approaching. Please take a moment to send a birthday card to her with a brief message. Ask others that you know to do also. Be sure to make sure you have the correct postage for the international rate. I think in the U.S. it is 80 cents but in any case, please double check. At Kei`s web site there are some pre-made cards available if you want to print them out and fold them yourself. Or just buy your own. You may want to include a printed page from the petition in with your card. Many of the statements on the petition are quite passionate. Send her card to: Kei the Wolf Kodomo no Kuni Zoo 5-7-1 Goya, Okinawa City, Okinawa Pref., Japan Some people have expressed concern that if the zoo personel see that it is for Kei, they may just throw it away. If you are worried that that may happen to your card, then please address it to either Yoshinobu Nishikawa, Executive Administrator, -- or -- Genwa Higa, Zoo Director, instead of Kei. Once they open it however, they will see that it is for Kei. Address and Update: Hello Everyone, Welcome all new supporters. Kei`s status, sad to say, is still unchanged. But as stubborn as the zoo is, so am I, and hopefully many of you are also with me on her campaign until we get her out. Kei`s web site is always being made better by Sam, our webmaster based in the U.K. . Through his connections he has been able to get a flash animation of Kei up on the main page. That actually is a silouette of Kei pacing. My wife took that short of Kei pacing about 5 months ago and after sending it to Sam he had a contact of his make the flash out of it. You can see the mundane existence Kei lives in and get a feel for how small her cage is. Right now the flash animation of her is still in the process of being made better. So check back once in a while and see how it evolves. Also, in the gallery there have been a few more pics of Kei added. In one picture you can actually see the dining room size patch of dirt Kei had that the zoo proudly pointed to the fact that her enclosure wasn`t ALL concrete. Kind of pethetic that they would point to that to try and say she isn`t living on concrete. Another addition to the site is the Star Supporter page. This is for those who go the extra distance by doing something other than internet actions. Presently, on that page you will find a bulletin board that a classroom of kids made at their school and some handwritten letters from the kids to the zoo officials. A few nice handdrawn pics as well. Keep in mind, that page isn`t for kids only. If you do something extra by creating something, then please let me or Sam know so that we can try to highlight it. Please do share it because it could help to inspire others. Kei`s signatures on her petition have just went over the 8,100 mark. Be sure to spread her petition around at: http://www.petitiononline.com/mod_perl/signed.cgi?Earle2 Don`t forget, if you have kids and or a teacher of very young kids who love animals, you can also download some pics of Kei for coloring to send to the zoo from Kim Petersen`s site. Crayon colored pictures are quite innocent and often have the power to pull at the heart. Here is the link to those pics: http://www.freewebs.com/voices4animals/kidsforkei.htm Some of you may want to check out Cindy`s Care2Connect page for Kei. It has a support network of nearly 200 people and many have posted some interesting comments about, for, and to Kei: http://www.freewebs.com/voices4animals/kidsforkei.htm Actually, Cindy is going to print out every comment on that site and send it to the zoo in a pink and red wrapped ribbon on March 25th. So, if you would like your comments to go along in her package, please post on her site a few times. BUT PLEASE, even if you do that knowing that that will be sent to the zoo, PLEASE DO send a seperate birthday card yourself to Kei. It is realy important that the zoo gets the mailbox stuffed not with only one wrapped package, but with many individual cards. That`s it for now. Thank you all so much for not only the help with Kei, but also the help with the many other animals issues I have come to know a lot of you are working on. As always, contact me anytime.
