Guest guest Posted March 10, 2005 Report Share Posted March 10, 2005 In regards to Australian Animals going to Thailand, no permits have been issued to send any Australian animals to Thailand. I spoke to the person at CITIES responsible for issueing the permits and they have at this stage not even received a request to export Australian animals to Thailand. A letter I received yesterday from the Australian Zoo consortium has said that whilst Thailand has expressed an interest in obtaining Australian Animals, at this stage they have not requested any animals. At this stage the Australian zoos also have not obtained permission to import the elephants from Thailand. Lynette Shanley Animal Defenders Primates for Primates Wild Cats Plus.
