The feeding will be done each day to help the surviving animals till human activity is restored. Thennampetai, has two parts. Konanayampattnam and Killamoorkarai. Such are the vagaries of nature that all hundred huts of Killamoorkarai were gone and 22-30 dehydrated goats scavenged on mouldy rice which was washed in by the waves. " Feeding the hungry animals is very important " In this village also fluid therapy was given to the goats, fresh water was brought Goat Being treated for dehydration....and food was given. No dogs or cattle had survived the killer waves that struck the village without warning. At Puthukuppam, 28 dogs were fed and five cats joined them. With 30 goats swarming around them hungry and thirsty all sharing the same food . Poompukkar, once a proud capital of the Chola Dynasty now the sea shore and the fishermen have all vanished. 50 scavenging cows, many dogs and goats had climbed upland and saved themselves. But the animals were worst hit here. At Chinanguzhi and Tharangampadi over 50 hungry cats were fed with milk. Goats and dogs were joined the milk and bread meal. But the saddest sight was of a number of people lying in the temple vacant eyed, and traumatized. They were terrified of life and while our team were willing to be sympathetic listeners, highly experienced psychiatrists are needed there to heal them. Meanwhile a lone child was seen playing cricket on the sand. Team -II Dr. Asha Arun along with Mr. Sudershan were taken by Dr.Cyril Roy's father who accompanied them to meet the district collector at Nagarkoil and they received a list of the affected villages in the Kanyakumari district. The next morning seven villages were visited by the relief team. Colachal, Kottilpaadu, Mandaikaadu, Kattuvitai, Kadiyappattinum, Sivandhama, Kelladivilai , where 147 goats, 17 cows and 5 dogs were treated fed and fluid therapy applied.
