Guest guest
There will be training programs open to overseas animal workers in September 2005 in the U.S. Please let me know if people from Asia would like to participate. The Helen Woodward Animal Center near San Diego, California, will put on a special seminar September 6 and 7, followed by the annual Conference on Homeless Animal Management and Policy (CHAMP) in Anaheim, California, September 8-10. Both will cover all aspects of animal shelter operation, including adoptions and fundraising. The CHAMP also has a " track " for shelter veterinary medicine. There is no fee for overseas animal workers who wish to attend the HWAC conference. Hotel rooms for those nights will be available at a special rate of $99, and two people can share a room. North Shore Animal League America, sponsor of the CHAMP, is willing to waive conference registration fees (including most meals) for overseas attendees of the CHAMP. Shared hotel rooms will probably be around $100. Participants would need to arrive in San Diego on or before September 5th and depart from Los Angeles on or after September 11. Please let me know if you are interested. Kim Bartlett -- Kim Bartlett, Publisher of ANIMAL PEOPLE Newspaper Postal mailing address: P.O. Box 960, Clinton WA 98236 U.S.A.
