Guest guest
ADOPT A CHIMPANZEE and become a living link in a mercy chain Studies have revealed remarkable similarities between chimpanzees and Man. Instead of drawing them closer to us, their human-like traits have only added to their misfortune. Chimpanzees once roamed all across West, Central and East Africa but relentless poaching - coupled with massive habitat destruction - has left just 150 000 chimpanzees in the wild, and only limited legislation exists in a few nations to protect them. Chimpanzees continue to be hunted down and poached in their hundreds each year. The illegal hunting and subsequent sale of primate meat - known as " bushmeat " - is a thriving commercial enterprise and is on the increase with the depletion of forests. Any chimpanzee babies who survive the hunting ordeal are sold as pets, zoo animals, or circus performers, while others are sold for medical research. You can help care for orphaned chimpanzees and help ensure the rescue of others, by adopting a chimpanzee currently receiving sanctuary at the CHIMFUNSHI WILDLIFE ORPHANAGE in Zambia. For an annual donation of £60 you will be contributing to an invaluable rehabilitation programme for these unfortunate orphans. Care and custody of the chimpanzees remain with the CHIMFUNSHI WILDLIFE ORPHANAGE, but the pride and satisfaction of contributing to an invaluable re-habilitation programme for orphaned chimps, lies with the adopter. Pledge your support for chimpanzees today, and share in the rewards of knowing that you are an important link in the chain. In return for your donation you will receive an " adoption pack " which includes: · a photograph and personal profile of the chimpanzee you adopt · a personalised adoption certificate · regular Newsletters (Adoption Programme Express) · free membership of the Friends of Chimfunshi · regular Friends of Chimfunshi Newsletters Interested?
