Guest guest
I would like to introduce a new organization on Okinawa Island, Japan: http://www.okinawazap.com/ ZOO ACTION PROJECT (ZAP) We are working to promote more humane conditions at the Okinawa Zoo for their animals, and are hopeful that they will not receive any other animals in the future into their care. Our biggest project right now is to " FREE KEI " the North American Timber Wolf (please see website). Working on one animal at a time. Kei has been in captivity, in a small, concrete enclosure since he was a puppy. He has not experienced running or the feel of grass beneath his feet. He is old... and we intend to get him to a sanctuary somewhere in North America so that his life can end on a humane note. The Zoo is actually " o.k. " with our plan to not only find a new location for Kei, but for their bear as well. We've received one email of " interest " from a sanctuary in the U.S. (re: Kei). If anyone knows of other avenues we can look into, please contact us! Thank you! ~Kim (I am the webmaster for http://www.freewebs.com/oaars, which is a website devoted to all animal welfare orgs. on the island, feel free to visit).
