Guest guest Posted August 26, 2004 Report Share Posted August 26, 2004 Singapore: Smuggled monkey seized Streats August 24, 2004 A female rhesus macaque, which was illegally kept as a pet in a warehouse off Malan Road in Telok Blangah, has been confiscated, following a raid by officers from the Animal Concerns Research and Education Society (Acres) and the Agri-Food and Veterinary Authority. The monkey was found chained inside the compound last Friday. Said Acres president Louis Ng: " She was in horrible living conditions and was extremely obese.
