Chimpanzees from Europe are waiting for your help!

Delay threatens Primadomus

Foundation AAP, European shelter for exotic animals, is the promoter of

Primadomus, a permanent shelter for primates in Spain. On an estate the size

of 45 hectare in the village Relleu near Alicante, AAP has been working at

developing this pension provision for more than three years. With this

project, AAP hopes to give many European primates who have suffered a

miserable life for various reasons, among whom chimpanzees from a Dutch

research institute, a safe future.

Unfortunately, the start of the building of four chimpanzee enclosures on

the grounds of Primadomus has been postponed at the last moment. Although

all procedures have been followed successfully on provincial level, the

local government makes it difficult now. A written approval, previously

given by the municipality in 2002, has been withdrawn for undefinable

reasons. The sustained damage of the building project is especially

regretful for the large group of chimpanzees from the research institute in

the Netherlands. These primates have to wait for a nice place under the sun

for yet an-other period.

At this moment AAP is busy trying to start up again the authorization

procedure, amongst others through chimpanzee protector Jane Goodall.

You can help too!

Sign the letter written below to the mayor of Relleu This letter will be

send to the mayor once a day with the names of all the signers.

The members of the European Parliament will receive a call of Jane Goodal

together with the results of this action.

Bring this action also to notice by to your friends and acquaintances.

Mr Santiago Cantó Pérez, mayor of Relleu, Alicante, in Spain

Primadomus, Life Time are Centre for primates in Spain, from

Foundation AAP

Dear Mr Mr Santiago Cantó Pérez,

Foundation AAP is the promoter of Primadomus, a permanent shelter for

pri-mates in Spain. On the estate Mas Asil, in your village Relleu, AAP has

been working for more than three years at developing this pension provision.

With this project AAP hopes to give many European primates a nice and quiet

life after having suffered a miserable life for various reasons.

Unfortunately, you have unexpectedly withdrawn your previously given written

support to the project. And these while many necessary researches were ended

with positive results and the province, numerous villagers; the Board of

veterinarians, primatologists and many others enthusiastically embrace the

project.

Despite intercession of Jane Goodall, chimpanzee protector and UN messen-ger

for peace, and your own queen Sofia in order to start up again the

authorization procedure, the planned transfer of chimpanzees in June 2005

seems to be threatened. This delay in the building project is especially

re-gretful for a large group of chimpanzees. They have to wait even longer

on a quiet, old day. They do not deserve that!

Foundation AAP asks you to provide on short term the permission for the

building of Primadomus. As a worried citizen I fully join in and ask you

ex-plicitly to keep to your previous written promise and to support the

re-alisation of this unique project in your community.

Yours faithfully,
