Guest guest Posted August 17, 2004 Report Share Posted August 17, 2004 - Daily News Tuesday, 17 August 2004 by Florence Wickramage A man possessing sambur meat and another with wild boar meat were fined while a man with three barking deer and a giant squirrel was arrested by officers of the Department of Wildlife Conservation. Wathupolaralalage Anthony of Thilani Hotel Hiriwadunna, Habarana was arrested by flying squad officers for the possession, sale and exhibition of four kilos of sambur meat. The meat was confiscated and Kekirawa Magistrate H. B. B. N. Ranaweera imposed a Rs. 5,000 fine and personal bail of Rs. 5,000. H. M. Premaratne of Lakmal Stores, Aralaganwila was taken into custody for the possession, sale and exhibition of 17 kilos of wild boar meat. The meat was confiscated.
