Magistrate Marlina Ibrahim yesterday ordered the four teenagers, all 16, to be referred to the Immigration Department for immediate deportation. She made the order in her chambers yesterday after allowing an application from prosecuting officer Anthony Gamad from the Fisheries Department. Gamad told the court he had received instructions from the Deputy Public Prosecutor & #146;s office to withdraw charges against the juveniles. The teenagers were arrested with 12 others in Malaysian waters on board a Chinese fishing vessel at 12.30pm on May 2. On May 12, magistrate Dalwinder Singh fined 12 fishermen a total of RM875,000 in default 96 months & #146; jail after they pleaded guilty to two offences under the Fisheries Act 1985. He imposed a fine of RM300,000 in default six months & #039; jail on the skipper, Lee Hoy Sue, for the first offence of fishing using drift nets without a Fisheries Department permit. The magistrate also ordered the 11 others & #150;Hwang Sue Seng, 48, Lee Pang Mao, 22, Lee Ling Sang, 22, Lee Chuan Sing, 30, Wang Hai, 21, Lee Pang Gin, 19, Lee Pang Chen, 25, Woo Yang Seng, 25, Lee Seng Sang, 46, Fong Jong Ai, 37, and Woo Chan Hai, 22, to each pay a fine of RM50,000 in default six months & #146; jail for the same offence. For the second offence of illegally catching 163 protected turtles, the skipper was fined RM3,000 in default two months & #146; jail, while his 11 crew members were each fined RM2,000 in default two months & #146; jail.
