Guest guest Posted May 9, 2004 Report Share Posted May 9, 2004 Regarding the message " Stop Bear Farming " from April 29, I would encourage anyone who is truly concerned about the barbaric practice of bear bile farming in China to visit the Animals Asia website (http://www.animalsasia.org/). With all due respect to WSPA, Animals Asia is THE organization working in China and throughout Asia in this field. In addition to lobbying the Chinese government (they signed a historic agreement with the government in July 2000 to rescue 500 bears and halt the licensing of new farms) and working to raise public awareness, their sanctuary in Chengdu is home to over 130 bears that have been rescued directly from these farms by the Animals Asia team.
