Natural Resources and Environment Minister Datuk Adenan Satem said the Government wanted to convert these places into recreational areas and make them easily accessible to locals and tourists. Adenan said the conservation of the flora and fauna was part of the efforts to preserve the environment. & #147;It is very appropriate to put natural resources and the environment under the same ministry as it underlines the fact that in the exploitation of our natural resources, we have to take into account the need to preserve the environment, & #148; he told reporters here yesterday. He also said he hoped to meet his counterparts from other countries, particularly from Asean, to discuss environmental issues of common concern.
