They're rising up on ebay.fr against the use of fur

Many celebrities have offered personal belongings in aid of AFIPA,

an animal rights society struggling against the use of fur.

Paris, February 18th 2004: In order to show their support to the

fight against the use of fur, many artists have given an object that

once belonged to them for a special auction on Ebay.fr, the French

leading person-to-person online trading community. The total amount

resulting from the auctions will be used by AFIPA in order to

finance the advertising campaign against the use of cat and dog fur.

From March18th until March 28th 2004, on www.ebay.fr, net surfers

will be able to raise the bidding on very special objects offered by

many celebrities such as :

· the Dalaï LAMA : his Personal Peace Scarf : the KHATA

· Patrick POIVRE D'ARVOR : one of his ties used for the

evening news

· Armande ALTAI (singer and singing teacher): An eighteenth

century like hand mirror

· Emma DAUMAS : An orange Morgan t-shirt

· Arielle DOMBASLE : The gold disc she received for her album

Extase

· Yves RENIER : Commissaire MOULIN's crash helmet (TV series)

Mylène DEMONGEOT : A wire motorbike from the first full-length film

of Marc SIMENON

· Amélie MAURESMO : A tennis racket

· LIO : Jewels (necklace and broach) and a jewellery box

· Phil BARNEY : A raincoat from « Un enfant de toi » video

· Rika ZARAÏ : Signed books and CDs

All these objects can be bought from only 1 euro and they can be

seen on www.afipa.net, AFIPA's website.

David Douillet, Chantal Lauby, Elodie Gossuin, Yves Lecoq, Serge

Lama, Nadia Farès and other celebrities have also taken part in this

action…

The total amount resulting from the auctions will enable the animal

rights society to finance an advertising campaign. Thus, AFIPA is

currently making a commercial condemning manufacturing and marketing

of cat and dog fur in France. AFIPA's goal is to ban manufacturing

and marketing of cat and dog fur in France and to force

manufacturers to indicate the name of the animal used for his fur.
