Guest guest
Hi All , I have been speaking to a UK supporter our organisation who has recently returned from a trip to Sarawak. She visited a Crocodile Farm in Miri which was exhibiting Sun Bears. This particular farm had a Sun Bear Cub which had a badly damaged paw, possibly broken, and was screaming in fright. I suspect that this bear has been taken away from its mother too early and the evidence of the damage to the paw suggests that it 'could' have been 'illegally' trapped in the wild. Is there anybody on this network that works in Sarawak who may be able to check this out by visiting the Crocodile farm to get further evidence of this and alerting the relevant authorities, or at least providing information to the owner of the farm concerning the treatment of the animal? The supporter will be writing to the embassies and authorities about the bear, as will I. If anybody else can help please do let me know.
