Teter has been playing the instruments ever since she was a child, but she complained that the youths in their village now are not interested in learning the instrument. “The songs we play here were passed down by our ancestors and they will be lost in the future because the young ones do not want to learn them,” she said. The couple was performing at the United Nations Development Program & #8211; Global Environment Facility Small Grants Programme booth near the main entrance of the exhibition hall. They are part of the Semelai Association for Boating and Tourism (SABOT), which is a community effort to promote tourism activities that will benefit the Semelai at Tasek Bera. & #8211; By Michael Cheang<p> ________________________ Your one-stop information portal: The Star Online http://thestar.com.my http://biz.thestar.com.my http://classifieds.thestar.com.my http://cards.thestar.com.my http://search.thestar.com.my http://star-motoring.com http://star-space.com http://star-jobs.com http://star-ecentral.com http://star-techcentral.com 1995-2003 Star Publications (Malaysia) Bhd.
