John, you have commented on the issue of us Westerners picking on the Chinese or Koreans, Taiwenese, etc. before stating that as long as we in the West were ourselves operating slaughterhouses' we had no right to criticize them. But I still think this is no 'excuse' or justification for such cruelty as shown in this video. I may not be obejctive here, but that is hard after watching this. I am with an Animal welfare organisation on the Greek Isle of Kefalonia, and I am told almost every day of poisonings, dogs and cats shot, drowned, horses abused and starved, etc. And we are happy for very life we save. And when I then see THIS - the wanton brutal destruction of a young life in particular - it is beyond my understanding. As with the civet cat issue, I cannot but think it is not 10.000 lives, but 1 + 1 + 1 + 1 ...... Diana ________________ Turbospeed zum Turbopreis! I never said we had no right to criticise - we can and must - what I said was that Asians might be more ready to listen to us Westerners if our own house was in order. I also agree that we must focus on the individual and not be mesmerised by numbers. John.
