i understand and notice that many of us like to help, but when we come to

donation, people start to doubt, and rasie up a few reason to withheld, well

here is my experience!

 

i was helping an animal fund selling christmas cards few years ago. and peopel

asked me why the fund has an address, why they rent an office, why they hire

people to work for them, why , why why.........!

i didnt work for them, i just help voluntarily. and i had the same questions as

well when i first started, but the questions were answered .

i was the only one offering this help in my company where i ahve 600 collegues,

and i could just spend a few moment to talk with my people, but no one was

helping me! but remeber this is just a " voluntary help " , i still have my own

work to do! so, i spent a lot of my free time to hard sell those christmas cards

and they were all sold out after a long time! i looked at the money and

understood all................

if i was a founder of the fund, can i use my own name? NO! then people wont

trust you! i need to have a bank nos of the foundation, so the money donated is

clearly for the suffered. i ahve only 2 hands, but i ahve a lot of ideas! who

can help me? a voluntary helper can come once a month, but do u expect him/her

to come everyday, 9am-6pm helping u all the way thru? who would do such a thing

in such a material world?

then, if u r printing pamphlets, or event just some rough copies, u need to pay

$$, christmas cards needs $$..................everything needs $$. yes, it is

true that not 100% of the donation goes directly to suffered, but we have to be

reasonable, we can get al the stuffs free all the time, free lunch may come

once, but not always!see, i raised HK$3000, but if i have a helper, we could

ahve HK$6000, and so on!but we have to deduct the cost! which is inevitable!!!!!

so many people were talking about san frontier, obis,....etc! what i could

truely say from my heart is that, you gotta try it yourself, u do it physically

yourself, then you will undersatnd some cost and some expenditure are

inevitable! but still most of it goes to suffered.

 

when you donate the money, you are not just giving the money, you are giving

your compassion, your help, your wish, your pray, your care, your concerns.and

also your attachment too................

 

so please, next time, when you come across any donation, do not think of that

stupid question that most people have, look at the pamphlet they give you, or

even a fund paoch, that cost money too! think that you are giving money to help,

or even some very litttle goes to the staffs who work long hours for them, you

are also helping them to earn their salaries for their efforts to support their

lives. you are also helping other people in other ways as well! your money will

never wasted for nothing!
