Guest guest
Dear friends, if you haven't sent out a protest letter to Chinese embassies and haven't got time to write a letter, please use the sample letter below. We haven't got much time. The dog cull will be carried out on the 1st of September. Please remember about 60000 dogs have already lost their life in Guangdong. Dogs and caring people in China desperately need help. I provide the link to the Chinese embassies worldwide again. http://www.travelchinaguide.com/embassy/embassy_list.htm If you struggle to send a letter to a Chinese embassy in your country for various reasons, send it to chinese embassies in UK, USA or your neighbouring country, explaining why you are sending it there. The email address of the embassy in UK is press I would like to express my sincere thanks to Kim Singer for her excellent and timely proofreading of the sample letter. Please help the animals and caring people in China. Yoon Dear Sir/Madam, Please accept this petition letter on behalf of the companion animals in China. More and more people from all around the world are now learning of the cruel and inhumane slaughter of dogs and cats in your country. While the repugnant dog meat industry continues to thrive in China, we hear that another dog cull has been announced in order to check the spread of rabies. This time it is Maoming government officials that will send out squads to kill the animals – animals who would no doubt risk their own lives for their human companions. We believe that about 60,000 dogs have been already put to death in Guangdong in recent days with the same excuse. You must realize that the image of your Country and its people is inevitably being tarnished by the image this atrocity creates. Indeed, I am genuinely surprised that the government of China apparently pays no attention to the plight of these animals. When I discovered the way that companion animals are being treated in China, I was truly heartbroken to see such beautiful creatures being dealt with in so cruel and inhumane a manner. I can almost hear the screams of terror and pain that are now commonplace in the Chinese meat markets. I also feel the anguish and terror that the caring people in China must be experiencing. Since we already know that killing dogs in their thousands is both a very expensive and, indeed, a wholly ineffective way of controlling rabies, people have begun to suspect that Chinese government officials have ordered the killing of both stray and pet dogs as a means of preventing the Chinese public from forming emotional attachments to them. These would-be animal lovers, however, are the very people who could begin to improve the image of your country internationally after it has been so seriously damaged by the pitiless and brutal dog meat industry. I strongly urge you, therefore, to request that your government put an end to this senseless killing by making it illegal to torture and slaughter companion animals for food. It is not only an act of gross cruelty to slaughter these animals in this way, but also a betrayal of trust. The very nature of these animals makes it impossible to breed, rear, and slaughter them for consumption in a humane way. People from all over the world – especially those who have experienced the comfort, faithfulness, and unconditional love given so readily by these animals – are absolutely horrified to learn of the unspeakable cruelty meted out to them. It is clear that, until China begins to treat them with kindness, and strictly enforces a ban on the consumption of companion animals, the country’s image will continue to suffer. It is also clear that many Chinese citizens who love and care for animals will be forced unfairly to share the worldwide disgrace and ignominy because of this practice that is born out of greed and ignorance. Please do all you can to stop the senseless culling of dogs and please also eradicate the health myth behind the killing and torture of these loving animals for food. One day, I would dearly love to be able to visit your country and also to buy goods made in China. At present, I cannot do so because it would only serve to remind me of the dreadful pain and horror these animals are still being subjected to on a daily basis. Once again, please help these animals, and show the world once and for all that China is a nation that honours trust and friendship. Sincerely, ===== Friends of dogs http://www.friendsofdogs.net Dogs brighten our life with their gift to love and bond. It is our turn to help our dogs.
