Guest guest
IPPL has just mailed out action alerts to all our members, telling the story of the " Taiping Four " gorilla smuggling case and asking members to send letters or postcards to the President of Nigeria (calling for prosecution of all the smugglers), the President of South Africa (calling for an investigation of the South African involvement in the shipment), and Malaysia's Minister of the Environment (calling for the prosecution of all Malaysians involved in the gorilla deal). We have prepared postcards which cost 70 cents each to mail from the US but of course individual letters can be sent to the addresses on the cards. If you're not an IPPL member and would like to participate by writing letters or mailing postcards, please let us know and we'll send you background information and a pack of postcards. Be sure to include your postal address. The material is not copyrighted so any group can use the cards any way it wants and translate them if necessary. We'd appreciate participation from primate friends around the world. This whole affair is a quagmire of foul play - and nobody involved has been prosecuted.
